How to convert iPhone video to GIF
Open this page in Safari on your iPhone, tap Choose a video, pick the clip from Photos, trim up to 15 seconds and tap Create GIF. iPhones record HEVC video by default; Safari plays it, so it works on the phone. On a Windows PC the same file may not open: choose “Most Compatible” in Settings › Camera › Formats to record H.264 instead.

No. The video is opened by your browser and turned into a GIF with FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly, so it stays on your device. It is free, with no account, no daily limit and no watermark.
How do I save the GIF to Photos?
After Download, open the GIF from the Downloads list or Files, tap Share and choose Save Image. Photos shows GIFs in the Animated album.
Why does my iPhone video not open on my PC?
It is probably HEVC. Use Safari on the iPhone or a Mac, or record with Settings › Camera › Formats › Most Compatible.
Do I need to install an app?
No. Everything runs in Safari, and the video stays on your iPhone.
