What this site does
VideoToGifConverter turns short video clips (MP4, MOV, WebM and other formats your browser can play) into animated GIFs, and includes free tools to compress, resize and crop GIFs or turn a GIF back into MP4. Every tool is free to use, with no account, no daily limit and no watermark.
How it works
Conversion runs inside your browser with FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly. Your video is read from your device and never uploaded to our servers. The only files the page downloads are the converter engine itself (served from assets.videotogifconverter.net) and a small image-safety model that also runs locally on your device.
Who runs it
The site is built and operated by Clooms, an independent studio run by Hommer Zhao. Questions, bug reports and feature requests go to support@videotogifconverter.net.
Hommer runs this site and is accountable for the converter and the guides published here (LinkedIn). The file-size numbers in our guides come from conversions we ran with this tool.
Why we built it
Most online GIF makers upload your video to a server, add a watermark or push a paid plan. Browsers can now do the whole job locally, so this tool keeps your clip on your device and stays free. The site is supported by advertising.
