How to convert MOV to GIF
MOV is Apple’s QuickTime container. Whether a .mov opens depends on the video codec inside it: H.264 MOVs open in every current browser, HEVC MOVs (the iPhone default) open in Safari and in Chrome or Edge on devices with HEVC hardware decoding, and ProRes MOVs usually only open in Safari on a Mac.

Is my video uploaded?
No. The video is opened by your browser and turned into a GIF with FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly, so it stays on your device. It is free, with no account, no daily limit and no watermark.
Why does my MOV show a decoding error?
The browser cannot play the codec inside it, usually HEVC or ProRes. Try Safari, or export an H.264 copy and convert that.
Does the GIF keep the sound?
No. GIF has no audio track, so the GIF is silent.
How long can the GIF be?
Up to 15 seconds and 300 frames per GIF.
